As part of the first NITAL Employability Programme of 2014, nine of our learners took part in a project to build a wheelchair. Working in two teams the guys quickly developed their practical and manual handling skills, whilst observing proper health & safety practices, and expertly managed to put together two fully-functioning wheelchairs in a single morning. After performing various quality controls, they will be donating the results of their hard work to a charity of their choosing, previous charities have included the Corby Rotary Club and the Lakelands Hospice, among others. Great Job Lads!
